ABOUT

Burlington High School is located at 123 Cambridge Street in Burlington, Massachusetts. The school site consists of 42 acres of land. The school was built in 1971, with a square footage of approximately 360,000 square feet. The Burlington High School offers a full complement of course offerings to approximately 900 students in grades 9-12, and an additional 110 pre-k students in our Early Childhood Center, in-line with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

The Owner is looking for a comprehensive plan to modernize or replace the existing Burlington High
School. Multiple options will need to be explored-including renovation of the existing School, a renovation and addition of the existing School and/or new construction. In addition to multiple construction options, we are looking to study ways in which the school would be well integrated into the natural environment, as the current Burlington High School is surrounded by neighborhoods and conservation land. The building should have healthy light and air to support healthy bodies and minds.
The Owner plans to be forward-thinking about future requirements for energy efficiency and environmental impact. As a building that will house future good citizens, we are planning for the building to have as small of a carbon footprint as possible. Lastly, and most importantly, the hope that building will be a place that sparks joy in learning and helps create lifelong memories.
